FLI Class of 2026 Senior Celebration
On Thursday, May 14, The First Generation and/or Low-Income (FLI) program held the Class of 2026 Senior Celebration at the Schwarzman College of Computing. Graduating FLI seniors celebrated the night with faculty and staff members who supported them throughout their journeys at MIT.
Opening remarks were delivered by FLI Senior Assistant Dean Alex Hoyt. The program also featured a heartfelt video message from MIT President Emeritus L. Rafael Reif and a powerful keynote address from Christine J. Walley, Head of the Department of Anthropology and SHASS Dean’s Distinguished Professor of Anthropology. Karla Guardado ’15, First Generation Alumni of MIT Board Member, welcomed graduates into the alumni community. Senior remarks were given by Annabelle Liefke ’26, Senior Chair of the FLI Student Advisory Board. The graduating seniors received FLI stoles, which were proudly worn by both FLI students and MIT FLI faculty during Commencement ceremonies.
